Hello miss Flrence,
Wow! its incredible how Dr. John Harvey Kellogg discovered corn flakes by accident as vale said they are perfect. Also I would get surprised because I couldnt discover what I wanted but in the other side I would be happy because I discovered a new thing, object etc....
See You,
Happy Holidays!

Hi Miss Florence,
9.Corn Flakes
When Will Kellog accidentally left some boiled wheat sitting out, it went stale by the time he returned.
He crated the Kellog's company, but his brother, also inventor of the product, didn't accept to be together with him because Will decided to put sugar to the corn flakes.
8.Microwave Oven
Percy Spencer was experimenting with a new vacuum tube called a magnetron while doing research for the Raytheon Corporation. He was intrigued when the candy bar in his pocket began to melt, so he tried another experiment with popcorn. When it began to pop, Spencer immediately saw the potential in this revolutionary process.
7.Silly Putty
While attempting to create a synthetic rubber substitute, James Wright dropped boric acid into silicone oil. The result was a polymerized substance that bounced.
6. Post-it notes
These can be put everywhere. Arthur Fry used this as a way of holding bookmarks in his hymnal while singing in the church choir.
5. Saccarin
A scientist who had a chemical on his hands and spilled it, and by accident, forgot to wash his hands, and gave his bread a sweet flavour.
4. Slinky
It was a bouncing toy, and a man in 1945 wanted to create a strange thing, a spring fell of his shelf and he created the toy.
3. Potato Chips
Crum sliced the potatoes as thin as possible, fried them in hot grease, then doused them with salt. I love to eat some potato chips, thank you, Crum.
2. Fireworks
2000 years ago Chinese people created fireworks by using charcoal, sulfur, and saltpeter.
And the best "Done by Accident Stuff" is....
1. The Play Doh!
Play-Doh was accidentally invented in 1955 by Joseph and Noah McVicker while trying to make a wallpaper cleaner. It was marketed a year later by toy manufacturer Rainbow Crafts. More than 700 million pounds of Play-Doh have sold since then, but the recipe remains a secret.
Miss Florence, I think all these things were great accidents, sometimes there are good accidents!
See you,

Axel G

Hi Miss Florance
I loved it, it was great!!! I can´t belive scientists discover something by accident (sometimes). Like who created the cornflakes. They are yummy!!! Like Will Kellogs discoverd something by leaving some wheat in water boiling. And also fireworks like amazing!!! Theye are such colourfull!!! I really love them, usually we fire them in New year. The ppplastilin (playdoh) was an accident and the microwave oven!!! I t is great!!! Hre are others:
Post-it-notes
Saccarin
Potatoe chips(yummy)
Silly Puti
Slinky a type of bouncy toy
That is all I can remember!! I t is quite much I think!!! Imagen if we invented something by accident and then it becomes famous!!! I woiuld love that. Miss Florance I think think this is very intresting!!!

hi miss Flourence

1. Corn Flakes : When Will accidentally left some boiled wheat sitting out, it went stale by the time he returned. Rather than throw it away, the brothers sent it through rollers, hoping to make long sheets of dough, but they got flakes instead
2. Microwave Ovens : He was intrigued when the candy bar in his pocket began to melt, so he tried another experiment with popcorn. When it began to pop, Spencer immediately saw the potential in this revolutionary process.
3. Silly Putty : while attempting to create a synthetic rubber substitute, James Wright dropped boric acid into silicone oil. The result was a polymerized substance that bounced, but it took several years to find a use for the product
4. Post-it Notes : by Arthur Fry as a way of holding bookmarks in his hymnal while singing in the church choir. He was aware of an adhesive accidentally developed in 1968
5. Saccharin : researcher Constantine Fahlberg, who was working at Johns Hopkins University in the laboratory of professor Ira Remsen. Fahlberg's discovery came after he forgot to wash his hands before lunch. He had spilled a chemical on his hands and it, in turn, caused the bread he ate to taste unusually sweet
6. Slinky : In 1943, naval engineer Richard James was trying to develop a spring that would support and stabilize sensitive equipment on ships. When one of the springs accidentally fell off a shelf, it continued moving, and James got the idea for a toy
7. Potato Chips : Fed up with a customer who continuously sent his fried potatoes back, complaining that they were soggy and not crunchy enough, Crum sliced the potatoes as thin as possible, fried them in hot grease, then doused them with salt
8. Fireworks : invented by a cook who mixed together charcoal, sulfur, and saltpeter -- all items commonly found in kitchens in those days. The mixture burned and when compressed in a bamboo tube, it exploded. There's no record of whether it was the cook's last day on the job
9. Play-Doh : Play-Doh was accidentally invented in 1955 by Joseph and Noah McVicker while trying to make a wallpaper cleaner. It was marketed a year later by toy manufacturer Rainbow Crafts

Hi Miss Florance
I decided to expand more so chek this out!!!:
This scientist named Will Keloggs created one of the most famous cereals in the whole world CORNFLAKES!! He made it by living (accidently) wheets boiling!!!! I LOVE CORNFLAKES WITH YOUGURT!!! He also made a gigantic company.
Another acccident!!! This man created the microwave oven, Percy Spencer was experimenting with a (new) vacuum tube called a magnetron (crazy name) while doing research for the Raytheon Corporation. Then he got inspired and did something and created POPCORN. Let´s see a movie now!!! Fireworks where also an accident. CHINNESE PEOPLE CREATED. I just love the fireworks and how they have so much colours. And this one is the one I could not belive it............ Play-doh, oh my that is a great accident and by tring to do a wallpaper cleaner he made a plastilin that gave many childrens their first laugh. I just love it!!! Well there are many more, those where the ones that inmpact me the most after seeing around 3 times the video!!! Here are others:
Saccarin it is like sugar but different!!
Silly Puti first I didn´t had a clue of what it was but then it finished to be a bouncy stuff!!!
Slinky something like a bouncy toy
Potatoe chips this is a great job for Crum you go man!!! I love potatoe chips!!!
Post-it-notes jjajaj that will help us orginaze and leave special messages.

Wow isn´t it amazing how an accident could turn to a very famous thing. I wonder if we could make an accident on purpouse and discover something but that doesn´t has sence.
This is great Miss Florance!!! I HAD MUCH MORE FUN BY EXPANDING IT!!! I opended to pages one to read all the info and take down this amazing notes and the other ine to leave a comment. Iloved it so hard!!!

Hi Miss Florence,
Below will be the list of the amazing ¨discoveries or inventions by accident¨:
1. Dr. John Harvey Kellogg and his brother Will Keith Kellogg were Seventh Day Adventists, and they were searching for wholesome foods to feed patients that also complied with the Adventists' strict vegetarian diet.
2. When Will accidentally left some boiled wheat sitting out, it went stale by the time he returned. Rather than throw it away, the brothers sent it through rollers, hoping to make long sheets of dough, but they got flakes instead.
3. The brothers experimented with other grains, including corn, and in 1906, Will created the Kellogg's company to sell the corn flakes.
4. On principle, John refused to join the company because Will lowered the health benefits of the cereal by adding sugar.

Bye Miss Florence!!

P.S: Also I wanted to tell you something...
I CAN´T BELIEVE THAT THE CORNFLAKES WERE A DISCOVERY BY ACCIDENT!!!! Also that the cornflakes are very good!!!!!!

Hello Miss Florence!!!
It's amazing they were really by accident. I can't believe that somethings that we use now were made by accident. I love corn flakes their delicious.
Here are the discoveries:
9. Corn Flakes
When Will Keith Kellogg accidentally left some boiled wheat sitting out, it went stale by the time he returned. Rather than throw it away, the brothers sent it through rollers, hoping to make long sheets of dough, but they got flakes instead. They toasted the flakes, which were a big hit with patients, and patented them under the name Granose. The brothers experimented with other grains, including corn, and in 1906, Will created the Kellogg's company to sell the corn flakes. On principle, John refused to join the company because Will lowered the health benefits of the cereal by adding sugar.

8. Microwave Ovens

7. Silly Putty
While attempting to create a synthetic rubber substitute, James Wright dropped boric acid into silicone oil. The result was a polymerized substance that bounced, but it took several years to find a use for the product. Finally, in 1950, marketing expert Peter Hodgson saw its potential as a toy, renamed it Silly Putty.
6. Post-it Notes
by Arthur Fry as a way of holding bookmarks in his hymnal while singing in the church choir. He was aware of an adhesive accidentally developed in 1968
5. Saccharin
was accidentally discovered in 1879 by researcher Constantine Fahlberg, who was working at Johns Hopkins University in the laboratory of professor Ira Remsen. Fahlberg's discovery came after he forgot to wash his hands before lunch. He had spilled a chemical on his hands and it, in turn, caused the bread he ate to taste unusually sweet.
4. Slinky
Richard James was trying to develop a spring that would support and stabilize sensitive equipment on ships. When one of the springs accidentally fell off a shelf, it continued moving, and James got the idea for a toy.
3. Potato Chips
He reportedly created the salty snack in 1853 at Moon's Lake House near Saratoga Springs, New York. Fed up with a customer who continuously sent his fried potatoes back, complaining that they were soggy and not crunchy enough, Crum sliced the potatoes as thin as possible, fried them in hot grease, then doused them with salt. The customer loved them and "Saratoga Chips" quickly became a popular item at the lodge and throughout New England.
2. Fireworks
Originated in China some 2,000 years ago, and legend has it that they were accidentally invented by a cook who mixed together charcoal, sulfur, and saltpeter -- all items commonly found in kitchens in those days. The mixture burned and when compressed in a bamboo tube, it exploded. There's no record of whether it was the cook's last day on the job.
I hate things that leave you a kind of suspence as in the texyt of the fireworks it says that the cook was never found.
1. Play-Doh
One question... are they numbered?
